A Memorial for the MIMOSA was unveiled on Saturday, 30th May to commemorate the sailing of the Ship MIMOSA, One Hundred and Fifty years ago with the first Welsh settlers going out to Patagonia, Argentina. Today, a memorial was unveiled to commemorate 400 men who drowned when the HMS Birkenhead sank off the coast of South Africa 162 years ago.

Thursday saw the unveiling of a new mosaic at the Eldonian Village Hall to commemorate the Merchant Navy. It was designed by Alan Murray and shows the links between the three cities, Liverpool, New York and Montreal.
