Mauretania

This model of the Mauretania is approx. three feet long and is made out of matchsticks. It was going to be thrown in the bin, until a retired seaman who had sailed in her thought it deserved a place of honour. The ship was sent to the breakers in 1966.
Matchsticks were used to light cigarettes and camp-fires. Had Guy Fawkes had a box of them, things might be different today.
