Thursday saw the unveiling of a new mosaic at the Eldonian Village Hall to commemorate the Merchant Navy. It was designed by Alan Murray and shows the links between the three cities, Liverpool, New York and Montreal.
A blue plaque was installed today on the premises of the New Capital restaurant in China Town that used to be Blue Funnel offices.
Here’s a short video featuring some aerial shots of the orphanage at Newsham Park. As you can see the building is in a poor state of repair but there is a team of volunteers who are hoping to do some restoration work on the building.
