The Chinese sailors who worked for Dutch Shipping Companies and perished at sea or in Liverpool during or after WWII and were buried in Anfield without headstones. British Pathe have recently put over 81,000 films from their collection onto Youtube. It really is amazing to go through them. Heres one we found from 1972 which looks like it was mainly shot in the Coburg Dock, classified as unissued and unused material, hence no audio. Beautiful footage.

The legend that is Mr San has had a Chinese restaurant on the dock road for the last 40 years. He used to be a ships cook on the Blue Funnel Line. He has some amazing stories to tell and he’s a good singer too.
